The Argentine group purchased the remaining 40% stake in Neo Rodas Mercor.
Mirgor acquired the remaining 40% of Neo Rodas Mercor S.A., taking 100% ownership of the aluminium wheel manufacturer. The company completed the transaction on 29 May 2026, as reported in its half-year financial statements closed on 30 June.
The transaction involved the purchase of 12 million ordinary shares from its Brazilian partner. Mirgor previously held a 60% stake, while the partner provided industrial know-how. The group stated that it bought the equity participation while maintaining its technical relationship with the Brazilian firm.
The 26,000-square-metre plant in Zárate required an investment of 120 million dollars. Mirgor estimates that the site will reach an annual production capacity of 1.2 million wheels by March 2027, making it the largest plant of its type in Argentina. The facility is currently running initial industrial tests and validation processes.
José Luis Alonso, CEO of Mirgor, confirmed that the initial wheel exports will supply an automaker in Brazil, replacing imports from China. Together with the 71 million dollar expansion of its Ontec plant in Baradero, Mirgor expects the formal inauguration of Zárate between late 2026 and early 2027.
