The group projects lower leverage as it prepares to sell 20 airports.
Motiva plans to invest R$8.2 billion across its highway and urban mobility concessions during 2026. CEO Miguel Setas stated in an interview with CNN that this spending level positions the group as the largest transport infrastructure investor in Brazil and one of the country's top ten investors across all sectors.
The company holds new and renegotiated contracts that demand substantial capital expenditures. Key commitments include the Fernão Dias highway connecting São Paulo and Belo Horizonte, the BR-163 in Mato Grosso do Sul, Rota Sorocabana in São Paulo, and Lot 3 of the Paraná highway system. In urban mobility, Motiva is expanding the network for São Paulo metro Line 4-Yellow and Line 5-Lilac.
Regulators should finish reviewing the sale of 20 airports to Mexican operator Asur by the end of this semester, according to Setas. The transaction was first announced in November of last year and involves 17 airports located in Brazil.
Closing the airport deal will reduce Motiva's consolidated leverage from 3.5 times to under 3.0 times. Management expects the lighter balance sheet to support participation in a R$160 billion pipeline of road, train, and subway concession opportunities mapped out across Brazil for coming years.
