NVIDIA taps Jacobs for data center digital twin

NVIDIA has selected engineering firm Jacobs to deploy its Data Center Digital Twin for a large-scale research and development facility in the United States. The partnership was announced on September 30, 2026, under a three-year software-as-a-service agreement.

Built on NVIDIA Omniverse libraries, the digital twin platform integrates engineering models, operational technology, and live facility data into a single operational system. The tool gives operators real-time visibility to simulate operating scenarios and optimize performance across one of NVIDIA's advanced artificial intelligence development sites.

The deployment supports dynamic power load balancing, energy forecasting, liquid coolant leak detection, predictive maintenance, and operator training. Teams will be able to model fluctuating AI workloads to assess power availability and cooling needs as computing demands grow.

Amer Battikhi, Executive Vice President at Jacobs, noted that rapidly scaling digital infrastructure requires smarter methods to manage energy demand and improve resiliency. Jacobs plans to evolve the system into an operating platform where AI agents analyze facility data to predict conditions and manage operations autonomously.
