Palantir rises 2.6% on a £5 million UK contract extension
The British government added one year to the Homes for Ukraine agreement, taking total payments to £15 million.
Palantir Technologies shares rose 2.59% to $199.15 in premarket trading on Thursday, October 8, 2026, approaching their 52-week high of $207.52. The advance came even as S&P 500 futures fell about 0.4%, with the stock up 8.13% over the past 12 months.
The move followed a one-year, 5 million pound extension (roughly $6.60 million) to its Homes for Ukraine contract from the UK Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. The extension brought total payments for the program to 15 million pounds (roughly $19.80 million), the Financial Times reported on Thursday. Palantir noted that it originally built the refugee-support system in nine days and later helped the UK government transition to an in-house platform.
Dan Ives, Senior Managing Director at Yorkville Ives & Co., named Palantir among his top technology picks for 2027 to capture an expected $4 trillion spending wave. Ives ranked the company third among his five preferred names, alongside Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple, and CrowdStrike Holdings.
Palantir holds a consensus Buy rating with an average price target of $202.46. DA Davidson raised its target to $250 on September 11, UBS lifted its target to $250 on September 15, and Rosenblatt maintained a Buy rating and $225 target on September 23.
