Petrobras has entered into a four-year agreement with Norwegian pump specialist Framo to service pumping systems across approximately 30 floating production, storage and offloading vessels. According to Framo, the transaction represents the largest service contract of its kind in the supplier's history.

The contract covers inspections, maintenance work and workforce training across four primary pump categories: seawater lifting, firefighting, crude oil cargo handling and reservoir water injection. Consolidating these services under a single framework allows Petrobras to coordinate technical support across its fleet instead of contracting requirements separately.

Framo, which has operated in Brazil since 1995 as part of Alfa Laval Group, projects that its installed pump base in the country will surpass 1,500 units by 2028 as additional production vessels enter service. To meet rising demand, Framo is building a maintenance and training facility at Galeão in Rio de Janeiro, though an opening date was not announced.

The companies did not disclose the financial value of the contract, expected cost savings or targeted production gains. The agreement serves as an operational maintenance framework for critical equipment rather than an announcement of new reserves or production capacity.
