TotalEnergies adds 700 MW to US joint venture with KKR
The $1.2 billion portfolio transaction adds three solar assets in Texas and Ohio
TotalEnergies announced on October 12, 2026, that it signed an agreement with investment firm KKR to add 700 MW to their 50/50 joint venture in the United States. The joint venture was established in 2025 and currently holds 1.4 GW of assets.
The transaction covers three utility-scale solar assets located in Texas and Ohio. It reflects an enterprise value of $1.2 billion for the portfolio. The facilities are expected to reach commercial operation by the first quarter of 2027. Power generated by these assets is already sold to third parties or will be marketed by TotalEnergies.
TotalEnergies will continue to operate the solar facilities once the transaction closes. The deal is expected to complete in 2026, subject to customary conditions.
By the end of June 2026, TotalEnergies held more than 37 GW of gross renewable power generation capacity. The company aims to reach over 100 TWh of net electricity production by 2030.
