The collaboration taps 14,000 GPUs to enhance visual search and cut computing costs.
Pinterest announced an expanded artificial intelligence partnership with Nvidia on 14 September 2026. The technical collaboration builds on a 5-year engineering relationship between both companies. The system uses 14,000 Nvidia GPUs to power an advanced multimodal architecture for shopping and search.
The new architecture increases the visual context capacity for the Pinterest Assistant by 25 times per request. The company reported that precomputed visual representations deliver an 85-fold speed improvement in startup time compared to raw image processing. Overall latency benchmark tests showed a 7.3-fold reduction.
The platform also noted significant efficiency gains from post-trained models. These models run at 8% of previous AI transaction costs. Additionally, the company saw an average 6% lift in click-through rates from creative optimization powered by AI.
The technical upgrade serves an audience of 640 million monthly active users worldwide. The platform hosts 16 billion user boards and processes 80 billion monthly search queries. Unbranded text queries account for 96% of all searches on the service.
