Ross Stores opens 51 locations to hit 2026 expansion goal

Ross Stores announced on October 12, 2026, that it opened 41 Ross Dress for Less stores and 10 dd's DISCOUNTS locations across 17 states during September and October. The rollout completes the retailer's growth schedule for fiscal 2026, reaching a total of 115 new stores opened over the year.

The latest openings included the company's first locations in Massachusetts, alongside additions in New York and other existing areas. dd's DISCOUNTS expanded across California, Florida, and Texas. Together, the two banners now operate approximately 2,377 locations across 45 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. That total comprises 1,993 Ross Dress for Less stores and 384 dd's DISCOUNTS units.

Richard Lietz, Executive Vice President of Property Development, stated that the company sees long-term potential to expand to at least 2,900 Ross Dress for Less stores and 700 dd's DISCOUNTS locations. The retailer, which posted $22.8 billion in revenue for fiscal 2025, also made local community donations to Boys & Girls Clubs and First Book literacy partners alongside the openings.
