Shell has initiated a partial restart of its Pearl gas-to-liquids plant in Qatar. A company spokesperson confirmed on Thursday, October 8, 2026, that Train 1 has resumed operations for testing facilities, according to a report from Reuters.

The Pearl GTL facility has a full operating capacity of 140,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and consists of two processing trains. Shell holds a 100% ownership stake in the facility.

One damaged processing train remains under repair. The plant experienced a shutdown in March 2026, which carried an initial expected repair duration of one year.
