The hardware includes an anticipatory AI service and ships later this fall in three markets.
On 16 September 2026, Snap introduced new services, hardware, and commercial partnerships for SPECS, its augmented reality glasses. The standalone glasses operate without a tether or puck, using hand gestures and voice controls alongside an integrated operating system.
SPECS are available for pre-order at $2,195 with a $200 refundable deposit, with shipments scheduled to begin later this fall in the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. A separate cellular charging case bundle will retail for $2,395, supported in the U.S. through Verizon with a 36-month financing plan and wearable data plans starting at $10 per month for existing subscribers and $20 for non-customers. Snap is also working with Orange in France and EE in the UK.
The device runs SPECS Intelligence, an anticipatory artificial intelligence service that operates across iPhone, Mac, and the glasses. The software predicts user needs without requiring direct prompts and includes a real-time translation tool supporting 60 languages. An iOS preview launched for U.S. users aged 18 and older, alongside an invitation-only waitlist for Mac access.
Snap detailed enterprise collaborations with Salesforce, Amazon Web Services, Nvidia, Trifork, and Hololight to deploy the glasses in factories, retail floors, and field operations. On the consumer side, content integrations include streaming from YouTube and HBO Max on a virtual 115-inch display, interactive sports drills with the NBA and WNBA, and 3D product previews via Shopify. Starting 1 October, consumers can test the glasses in Los Angeles at Westfield Century City.
