The data center intelligence provider becomes part of S&P Global Energy; financial terms were not disclosed.
S&P Global (NYSE: SPGI) announced on September 1, 2026 that it has completed its acquisition of datacenterHawk, a leading provider of proprietary intelligence for global data center, fiber optic, and related infrastructure markets. The deal was originally announced in July 2026.
datacenterHawk is now part of S&P Global Energy. The company brings asset-level intelligence on data center supply, demand, pricing, pipelines and site selection — including its FiberLocator platform — to S&P Global Energy's coverage of global power markets, grid infrastructure intelligence, supply and demand forecasting, and market outlooks and technology intelligence from 451 Research.
AI is transforming the physical infrastructure and energy systems that underpin the global economy, and our customers need real-time, actionable intelligence that connects all of it – data centers, power grids, compute, and connectivity.
According to S&P Global, the combined platform gives customers enhanced transparency and insight into data centers, emerging capacity and the evolving AI infrastructure ecosystem, with real-time intelligence for investment, site selection and strategic planning.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on the financial results of S&P Global or the Energy division. As with any corporate development, outcomes may differ from current expectations, and past results do not guarantee future performance.
