The new multi-omics venture aims to detect diseases years before clinical symptoms emerge.
Thermo Fisher Scientific announced on 15 September 2026 that it has partnered with Mayo Clinic to launch Precure, LLC. The new venture aims to identify early biological signals of disease before clinical symptoms appear, using one of the largest human multi-omics data initiatives.
Mayo Clinic serves as the majority owner of Precure, while Thermo Fisher joins as a minority owner. The project will link molecular data generated from one million biospecimens with longitudinal clinical information collected over several years, using advanced artificial intelligence and analytics to detect patterns across cancer, cardiometabolic disease, neurological disorders and immune-mediated conditions.
Thermo Fisher will supply its proteomics platforms to build the multi-omics ecosystem, including its Olink Explore HT platform, Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry, kits and reagents. Mayo Clinic will provide clinical data, biospecimens and research capabilities, reinvesting any financial returns into its nonprofit mission.
Precure LLC has the potential to create a step change in how we generate and apply multi-omics data to improve human health. By combining Thermo Fisher's leadership in scientific technology with Mayo Clinic's leadership in clinical care, research and innovation, we can create new opportunities at unprecedented scale to detect disease earlier, accelerate drug development and enable more precise therapies.
