The electric SUV will debut in October as the brand brings traditional names to EV lines.
Volkswagen will unveil the new ID.Tiguan in early October, an all-electric SUV scheduled to launch in markets in early 2027. The vehicle will replace both the ID.4 and ID.5 in the company's electric vehicle line. In Brazil, the ID.4 was recently introduced at a price of 299,990 Brazilian reals.
The ID.Tiguan represents the third traditional badge that Volkswagen is migrating to its electric portfolio, following ID. Polo and ID. Cross. The automaker stated that the new model features a completely redesigned appearance designed to offer the presence of a higher-segment vehicle. Until its world premiere in October, the SUV remains in road testing under camouflage as a near-production concept.
The Tiguan nameplate will simultaneously remain in use for combustion-engine and hybrid models, establishing parallel offerings across powertrains. Tiguan is currently the best-selling model for Volkswagen and the entire Volkswagen Group worldwide, with more than 8.3 million units produced. Meanwhile, combined deliveries of the ID.4 and ID.5 have exceeded 950,000 units since 2021.
Thomas Schäfer, CEO of the Volkswagen brand, stated that the new model brings key SUV characteristics, including interior cabin space and operating technologies, directly into the electric vehicle lineup.
