US shoppers using the tool spend about 35% more on average, the retailer said.
Walmart launched Sparky, its artificial intelligence shopping assistant, in Mexico on September 24, 2026. The tool is available in the retailer's mobile app for Android and iOS devices. It allows customers to interact through natural conversations to plan purchases, compare products, and receive tailored recommendations for occasions such as weekly meal planning or events.
The deployment is part of the company's strategy to build technological solutions globally and scale them across individual markets. In the United States, usage of Sparky has doubled each quarter. Customers who use the assistant spend about 35% more on average than those who do not, according to Walmart.
Sparky uses AI to make shopping simpler and more intuitive, guiding our customers to find what they need, make better use of their money, and save time.
