The new platforms let users generate 2D and 3D games across mobile and web using text prompts.
Meta introduced Horizon Create and Horizon Studio at its Connect conference on September 24, 2026. The two new tools allow users to build 2D or 3D mobile games directly from smartphones or web browsers using natural language text prompts.
The tools run on the Meta Horizon Engine and let creators describe game concepts that the system translates into playable experiences. Horizon Create operates as a mobile app for phone-based creation, while Horizon Studio provides a browser-based environment with detailed controls. Creators can move projects between both platforms without losing progress.
Titles developed with the tools will be distributed across Facebook, Instagram, and Meta Horizon platforms. Distribution will rely on engagement metrics, giving higher reach to games that retain players. Meta plans to support creator monetization through in-game purchases and the Meta Horizon Creator Fund. All content will go through safety systems and receive automated age ratings before release.
Following the announcement, shares of gaming peers fell on September 24, 2026. Unity Software dropped 5%, while Roblox and AppLovin each declined 1%.
