XPENG launches G9L SUV in China and targets 64 markets

On September 17, XPeng held the launch event for its G9L flagship SUV in Beijing, China. The electric vehicle maker confirmed the model will be sold across 64 global markets, with its international launch scheduled for October 12 at the Paris Motor Show in France.

The G9L will be available in both battery electric and range-extended versions. It measures 5,120 millimeters in length with a wheelbase of 3,100 millimeters. Built on the VLA 2.0 model, the vehicle runs on the Turing AI chip, the same semiconductor used in the company's humanoid robot IRON.

Before reaching production, the vehicle completed 192 crash tests under Euro NCAP, ANCAP, C-NCAP, and CIASI standards, covering more than 110 testing items. Testing also included over 6.74 million kilometers of road trials across 26 countries and regions over three years.

XPeng will manufacture the SUV in Guangzhou, China, and Graz, Austria. Produced at Magna's Austrian facility alongside the G6, G9, and P7+, the G9L marks the fourth model localized in Europe under a cooperation agreement reached in September 2025.
