YPF targets historic output of 1 million barrels per day

YPF CEO Horacio Marín stated that the state-controlled energy firm is expanding rapidly and aims to produce 1 million barrels of oil per day for the first time in history in the short term. In an interview with LN+, Marín projected that the company will grow to be more than four times larger than it is today.

Marín explained that this production level will push Argentina's exports to $18 billion. He also noted that YPF reached its all-time production high during 2025, and he estimated that broader energy development could generate $58 billion in exports by 2030.

Addressing recent comments from economist Alfonso Prat-Gay about the local economic impact of Vaca Muerta, Marín cited active expansion across Neuquén province. He noted that 100 buildings are currently under construction in Neuquén and that the country's top-selling YPF service station is located in Añelo.

The executive also highlighted drilling operations in the region. YPF operated 12 drilling rigs in December of last year and plans to have 21 active rigs by February.
