The monthly rate increases from MXN 99 to MXN 129 starting on September 21, 2026.
Amazon notified users in Mexico that it is raising the cost of its Prime membership for the first time since launching in the country in 2016. The monthly fee increases 30%, moving from MXN 99 to MXN 129 per month, while the annual subscription rises from MXN 899 to MXN 949.
The rate adjustment took effect on September 21, 2026, and applies at each subscriber's next renewal cycle. Alongside the increase, Amazon offered monthly users a promotion to switch to the annual plan for the equivalent of MXN 78.75 per month by splitting the payment across 12 interest-free installments with participating cards.
The service maintains retail and entertainment perks in Mexico, including free shipping with no minimum purchase, 15-minute Amazon Now deliveries, same-day and next-day shipments, exclusive discounts, Amazon Music, free deliveries and discounts on Rappi Restaurants, and access to free games on Amazon Luna.
The move follows industry-wide price adjustments in Mexico. On May 15, Disney+ raised rates by between MXN 10 and MXN 20, pricing its standard ad-supported plan at MXN 159, standard without ads at MXN 259, and premium at MXN 339. Netflix previously increased its monthly plans to MXN 139 for ad-supported basic, MXN 269 for standard, and MXN 369 for premium. HBO Max also raised its monthly premium tier from MXN 239 to MXN 299 and introduced an extra MXN 79 fee for sharing accounts outside the household.
