Errors hit Claude Chat, mobile apps, and Claude Code across multiple countries.
Anthropic resolved a global outage affecting its artificial intelligence assistant Claude across its web version and applications. Monitoring service Downdetector logged thousands of issue reports from users in countries including Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico, where people were unable to generate responses.
The interruption displayed an error message stating that the request could not be processed and prompted users to try again. The failure disrupted ongoing conversations and blocked new queries, impacting both free users and Pro subscribers, as well as the macOS application.
The largest share of problems occurred on Claude Chat, which accounted for 41% of reported incidents, covering issues with starting conversations, submitting requests, and receiving replies. The Claude mobile app generated 33% of reports, while Claude Code accounted for 15% of complaints.
Normal functionality has returned across both free and paid tiers. Anthropic is a private artificial intelligence firm, and its service competes with tools such as OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini.
