Employees approved the collective agreement across 116 union regions after concessions on profit sharing and healthcare.
Banco do Brasil employees voted to accept the institution's final proposal, bringing an end to the partial strike that started on 10 September. According to union confederation Contraf-CUT, 116 union bases approved the deal, including Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, and Porto Alegre, while 18 union entities rejected it.
Under the terms of the agreement, the bank will pay its profit-sharing distribution (PLR) within 72 hours of signing the collective contract. Banco do Brasil also agreed to excuse the strike day on 20 August, extend paternity leave from 20 days to 35 days, and raise assistance allowances for children with disabilities.
The accord includes an advance of 360 million reais in employer contributions to the Cassi healthcare plan, alongside a commitment to prioritise Cassi for workplace safety and occupational health services. In addition, 71,500 staff in business and support units will receive a financial recognition payment of 3,000 reais in February 2027, tied to fourth-quarter 2026 results. The baseline salary for relationship center staff will rise from 4,795.12 reais to 6,302.77 reais starting in January 2027.
Banco do Brasil stated in a note that it respects dialogue and assembly decisions, noting that client service continued normally across digital channels and branch operations in unaffected areas like São Paulo.
