The bank pledged $150 million over five years for US workforce programs on September 24, 2026.
Bank of America announced on September 24, 2026, that it will hire 1,000 additional apprentices over the next two years. The institution also pledged $150 million over five years to workforce development organizations across the United States, building on nearly $40 million invested in 2025 across more than 100 colleges and universities and over 600 non-profit groups.
The new apprentice positions will expand into Consumer Banking, Technology, Operations and client-facing areas. These hires come on top of the more than 800 apprentices the company already recruits annually for paid 12-month training programs.
Currently, approximately 40% of Bank of America hires do not hold a bachelor's degree. The bank is also working toward broader targets to hire 10,000 individuals with military backgrounds and 8,000 community college graduates over five years, while maintaining a minimum annual starting salary of at least $50,000.
