The financing is part of a syndicated facility led by IDB Invest for climate and gender initiatives.
Banco Davivienda announced that it received a $60 million loan from FinDev Canada, equivalent to COP 192,000 million. The funding marks the second credit granted by the institution to the Colombian bank.
The transaction is part of a syndicated loan of approximately $140 million led by IDB Invest. Davivienda will allocate 50% of the loan proceeds to climate-related activities across certified green building, sustainable agriculture, and solar photovoltaic projects. The bank highlighted that Colombia aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by around 51% by 2030, a goal requiring annual investments of $92,000 million.
The remaining capital will focus on gender-focused financing. Davivienda will direct 30% of the loan to small and medium-sized enterprises led by women, and 20% to social interest housing for women. In Colombia, women lead 42% of SMEs, but only 62% have access to credit products.
This partnership with FinDev Canada allows us to continue mobilizing resources toward initiatives that generate a positive impact on people's lives, strengthen the role of women in the economy, and accelerate the transition toward a low-carbon and resilient economy.
