The new vehicle will trade on BYMA and replicate a domestic equity index.
Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos (BYMA) announced on September 23, 2026, that it is working with Galicia Asset Management to launch Argentina's first local exchange-traded fund (ETF). The instrument will be issued by Galicia Asset Management and listed directly on BYMA.
The ETF aims to replicate a domestic equity index, offering investors exposure to a diversified portfolio through a single asset traded on the secondary market. BYMA adapted its trading, post-trading, and custody infrastructure to support the listing and settlement of this new vehicle.
María José Del Boca, chief trading and CCP officer at BYMA, stated that the development of the first local ETF serves as a starting point for an innovation agenda to expand investment opportunities. Dario Hallac, head of Galicia Asset Management, noted that the initiative seeks to bring instruments used internationally closer to the local market.
The underlying index composition, constituent stocks, launch date, and operating conditions have not yet been disclosed. Both entities indicated that full details will be announced soon.
