Executive Vice President Tomás Restrepo detailed three expansion routes focused on aggregates.
Cementos Argos is preparing a return to the United States under an independent platform, aiming to generate between $200 million and $300 million in Ebitda. Tomás Restrepo, executive vice president of Cementos Argos, outlined the strategy in an interview with Valora Analitik published on September 26, 2026. The new US vehicle focuses initially on the aggregates business and separates operations from Latin America, where the company aims to reach around $500 million in Ebitda toward 2030.
The company operated in the US between 2003 and 2023, deploying about $3,000 million before divesting. To lead the new phase, Cementos Argos hired Jason Teter, who brings building materials experience and is assembling a dedicated US team in geology, production, business development, sales and finance. The US plan follows three avenues: importing aggregates into the Gulf and southeastern US markets, acquiring smaller aggregates companies with solid reserves, and investing in greenfield quarry projects. Restrepo said the team has reviewed more than 80 companies.
Cementos Argos currently operates in more than 16 countries, with roughly 35% of its revenue generated outside Colombia. Colombia remains its largest profit driver, generating about 65% of its Ebitda. At the close of the second quarter, the consolidated Ebitda margin was near 22%, converging toward its 24% full-year guidance.
In Central America and the Caribbean, Restrepo noted that Cementos Argos holds about a 35% share of the cement market in Honduras, where it anticipates capacity investments and price improvements over the next two years. The company is also monitoring consumption growth in the Dominican Republic and recovering demand alongside cost reductions in Panama.
