Chevron names Jeff Gustavson CFO in executive reshuffle
The management changes across oil, finance, and new energies take effect on January 1, 2027.
Chevron Corporation announced a series of executive leadership changes on October 5, 2026. The new appointments across its operations, finance, and clean energy units will take effect on January 1, 2027.
Jeff Gustavson, currently president of New Energies, will become Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Gustavson will oversee audit, controller, investor relations, tax, treasury, and business planning activities worldwide.
Current Chief Financial Officer Eimear Bonner will take over as president of Oil, Products & Gas. Bonner will lead operations across the value chain, capital allocation, asset class excellence, and value chain optimization. Mark Nelson, currently vice chairman and executive vice president of Oil, Products & Gas, will remain vice chairman with responsibility for Strategy and Business Development to focus on portfolio growth and competitiveness.
Brent Gros, currently president of Offshore, will succeed Gustavson as president of New Energies. Gros will head lower-carbon businesses, including hydrogen, power, carbon capture, offsets, and biofuels, while also managing Chevron's artificial intelligence strategy.
