CVS unit Aetna expands 2027 Medicare plans to 57 million people

The insurer will offer Medicare Advantage prescription plans across 41 states and Washington, D.C.

CVS Health insurance unit Aetna announced its 2027 Medicare product lineup on October 3, 2026. The company will offer Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans in 41 states plus Washington, D.C., reaching an addressable base of 57 million Medicare-eligible beneficiaries.

Aetna is expanding its Chronic Condition Special Needs Plans into six new states, bringing total coverage to 25 states. The insurer is also broadening its High Value Provider Incentive Program into two additional states as it enters its fourth year, while growing its Prime HMO offerings in select markets.

The 2027 products feature 0-dollar copays on Tier 1 drugs at preferred pharmacies across all Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans, alongside 0-dollar cost-sharing for preventive exams like colonoscopies and mammograms. In every county where Aetna offers Medicare Advantage plans, at least one plan will include a 0-dollar monthly premium.

Supplemental benefits include an annual Healthy Home Visit through licensed Signify Health clinicians at no extra cost, dental, vision, and hearing coverage, and allowances via the Aetna Medicare Extra Benefits Card powered by CVS Flex Benefits.
