Dasa opens a diagnostic center in Brasília for 2.4m tests
The 4,500-square-meter hub expands B2B laboratory support and processing capacity.
Dasa opened a new Technical Operational Center in Brasília on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The 4,500-square-meter facility has an initial processing capacity of 2.4 million tests, which can expand to 5 million without additional construction work. The site joins the company's largest hubs alongside São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Nationwide, Dasa operates 24 technical operational centers that process more than 450 million tests annually.
The facility will serve as Dasa's processing benchmark for the Central-West, North, and parts of the Northeast. The operation involves 200 professionals across more than 400 municipalities, four Rede Américas hospitals in the Federal District, and reaches more than 2 million patients each year. It also serves over 1,000 partner laboratories through the Alvaro Apoio brand, with capacity to reach 1,200. The company's Exame brand has 76 units in the Federal District and Central-West region, and the hub enables local processing of more than 95% of Dasa's test menu.
CEO Rafael Lucchesi described the hub as Dasa's largest individual project delivered in 2026 so far, though the company did not disclose the investment amount. Dasa is renovating 18 technical operational centers nationwide through 2027 in partnership with suppliers such as Roche. Lucchesi told Reuters that the company may replicate the Brasília model in other states if business-to-business demand warrants it.
In the first half of the year, Dasa's laboratory support business had an average ticket of 6.70 Brazilian reais, compared with 34.20 Brazilian reais in the outpatient division. However, test volume in the B2B unit grew 16.7% year over year, while outpatient test volume grew 6.2%. Lucchesi noted that while B2B offers expansion, the business-to-consumer segment remains Dasa's core operation.
