Falabella opens a 2,800-square-meter store in Coyhaique
The retailer hired more than 100 local workers ahead of its official October 15 opening.
Falabella started commercial operations on Tuesday, September 29, at a new 2,800-square-meter store located at Arturo Prat 451 in Coyhaique, in Chile's Aysén Region. Shoppers lined up before 15:50 while final details were completed. Although commercial trading has begun, the official opening ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 15.
The store occupies a renovated building formerly used by Corona. The property preserves elements of the previous structure, including an escalator that is now the only operating commercial escalator in the Aysén Region. Inside, the store offers clothing, shoes, handbags, mobile phones, technology, and home goods, alongside self-checkout terminals and a Click & Collect pickup point for online orders.
Sources close to Diario Regional Aysén indicated that prices in Coyhaique match those on Falabella's digital platform and across its national branches. The launch involved hiring more than 100 workers from the Coyhaique municipality, chosen from candidates who applied during the Expo Empleo Falabella job fair held in May.
The opening is part of Falabella's expansion strategy across central and southern Chile. The company's pipeline also includes upcoming store openings in Linares and Angol.
