Falabella, alongside Bicecorp, Consorcio, and Banco de Chile, filed briefs before the Chilean Supreme Court asking it to dismiss an appeal by consumer group Conadecus, according to a report by La Tercera on October 6, 2026.

The legal dispute follows a ruling by the Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia (TDLC) on September 3, 2026. In that decision, the antitrust court rejected 3 core structural proposals submitted by Conadecus to place limits on business conglomerates.

The antitrust tribunal accepted only 1 proposal from Conadecus, which recommended creating a registry of economic groups and beneficial owners. Conadecus appealed to the Supreme Court to overturn the tribunal's refusal of its structural measures.

Conadecus lead attorney Mario Bravo, who worked for 12 years at the National Economic Prosecutor's Office, heads the legal effort to reinstate broader restrictions on corporate groups.
