FEMSA's OXXO to invest 300 million pesos in Mexico
The retail chain plans to open 80 new stores and generate 580 direct jobs this year.
Convenience store chain OXXO, owned by
Fomento Económico Mexicano (FEMSA), announced an investment of approximately MXN 300 million to expand its store network in the State of Mexico. According to an official company statement, the capital injection will fund the opening of 80 new branches during the year.
The expansion will create 580 direct jobs in the region. The company stated that the initiative aims to strengthen its logistics infrastructure, support local economic development, and integrate regional suppliers into its supply chain.
The new stores will expand OXXO's presence in the State of Mexico, where the retailer already operates more than 1,700 locations supported by distribution centers in Toluca and San Martín Obispo. Across Mexico, FEMSA reported that OXXO operated more than 24,000 stores as of 2025.
