Forus reports cyberattack on its retail IT systems

Chilean retailer Forus reported a cybersecurity incident that affected several of its IT systems. The company, which represents brands such as Under Armour and Hush Puppies in Chile, notified the Financial Market Commission (CMF) that it became aware of the breach on September 15. The incident was caused by an external agent.

Following detection, Forus activated its prevention, detection, and response protocols with support from cybersecurity and digital forensics experts. The retailer confirmed that the incident is now contained.

Its physical store network continues to operate normally, although its other sales channels are experiencing intermittent disruptions that remain under recovery. Forus stated that personal data of customers, employees, and third parties has not been compromised. The company added that it does not yet have enough information to project potential financial impacts on its assets, liabilities, or operating results.
