The project is part of a US$55 million capital plan for the current year.
Chilean retail group Ripley announced the opening of a new department store in the historic center of Osorno. The 4,000-square-meter location, situated on Eleuterio Ramírez Street, will open to the public on Wednesday, October 14, followed by an official opening on Friday, October 16. It marks Ripley's 42nd store in Chile and its third in the Los Lagos region.
The store operates on 100% renewable energy and includes self-checkout stations, offering 220,000 products, a dedicated floor for women's apparel, and a branch of Banco Ripley operating continuous mall hours from Monday to Sunday. The site also links local small businesses to Ripley's national marketplace through Blue Express and features Click & Collect pickup areas. The project generated 140 jobs during remodeling and creates 150 permanent direct and 60 indirect jobs.
This opening is framed within Ripley's holding-level investment plan of approximately US$ 55 million for this year. The company is allocating 35% of those funds to retail, 39% to Banco Ripley, and the remaining 26% to expansions of Mall Aventura in Peru.
The investment plan follows Ripley's second-quarter results, in which net profit rose 59.8% to CLP 25,149 million, while consolidated revenue grew 5.8% to CLP 564,138 million. Retail revenue in Peru rose 13.5% for the quarter and 15% for the half-year, offsetting a 3.9% quarterly sales decline in Chile that faced a high comparison base from foreign tourist spending in 2025.
