Gol launches flight check-in via ChatGPT
The service opens to all passengers on October 19 at no extra cost.
Gol Linhas Aéreas announced an integration with OpenAI's ChatGPT on Thursday, October 8. The tool allows travelers to complete their check-in and generate boarding passes directly through the artificial intelligence assistant. Gol said it is the first airline in Latin America to offer this feature.
The tool is currently undergoing restricted testing and will roll out to all customers on October 19 at no additional cost. To use it, passengers can access ChatGPT through the mobile app or web browser, type @gol, and request to view their trips. The platform then opens an authentication page within Gol's official environment.
Gol stated that the login process complies with its security protocols and Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD). Login credentials and sensitive personal details will not be accessible to ChatGPT. After signing in, passengers can pick their seats, confirm their flight, and produce a digital boarding pass with a QR code for airport presentation. The pass can be downloaded or saved to a smartphone digital wallet.
The feature will be available to all ChatGPT users, including those on the free tier. Gol noted that this integration is the first step in its generative artificial intelligence roadmap, with plans to assess customer feedback before rolling out more services in the coming months.
