Apple is preparing a second presentation event in October to launch its first touchscreen MacBook alongside a new version of the iPad mini. According to people familiar with the matter, the launch is scheduled to take place around October 27. The event will also feature new versions of the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the iMac, both powered by upcoming M6 chips.

The presentation will combine an online video with an in-person press experience, directed primarily at creative professionals in video editing, photography, and music production. These releases are part of a broader portfolio overhaul under John Ternus, who recently took over leadership at Apple. The executive aims to expand the company into new categories and lift services revenue. Apple did not comment on the plans.

Before this showcase, Apple has scheduled a smart home event on October 13 focused on connected devices, including its first home hub with an integrated screen, a new HomePod mini, and an updated Apple TV, all centered on the Siri artificial intelligence assistant.

The upcoming MacBook Pro models, known internally by code names K114 and K116, will be lighter than existing versions. They will feature OLED screens and the Dynamic Island interface introduced on the iPhone, while keeping a design similar to current generations. The updated iPad mini will also add an OLED screen, a landscape camera for video calls, and a redesigned audio system.
