Grupo Aval reported that its sustainable credit portfolio reached COP 45.4 trillion at the close of the second quarter of the year. The total represents an increase of COP 1.6 trillion compared with the same period of 2025. Around COP 36 trillion financed social-impact projects, while approximately COP 9 trillion went toward green financing.

The funds supported renewable energy, sustainable construction, productive inclusion, and sustainable transportation across Colombia. Projects included solar farms, low-impact buildings, and agro-industrial developments. Banco de Bogotá completed a 150 million dollar operation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which the company identified as the region's first financial transaction under a public energy transition framework. Of the invested resources, 30% goes to small and medium enterprises, 50% to construction projects with international environmental certifications, and 20% to operational efficiency and technology initiatives.

Paula Durán, corporate vice president of sustainability and strategic projects at Grupo Aval, stated that sustainability is an integral part of the business strategy.

In renewable energy, Promigas closed the acquisition of 100% of solar platform Zelestra Latam in May. The transaction expanded its renewable portfolio from 170 MW to more than 3,500 MW across operating, construction, and development projects. Grupo Aval targets cutting almost 3.5 million tons of CO2 emissions by 2044, reducing emissions by 51% by 2030, and reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.
