The network now operates MEDITECH Expanse across 72 hospitals in the U.S. and the U.K.
On 14 September 2026, MEDITECH announced that HCA Healthcare completed the implementation of the Expanse electronic health record platform across 34 hospitals in its Capital and North Florida divisions. These are the first two of HCA Healthcare's 15 U.S. divisions to fully transition to the platform. The Capital Division includes 18 hospitals across Virginia and New Hampshire, while the North Florida Division covers 16 hospitals across Florida.
The deployment follows an enterprise-wide rollout that began with an initial wave of 22 hospitals going live in 2025. Following the latest rollout group in August 2026, HCA Healthcare now operates MEDITECH Expanse at 72 hospitals across its network in the U.S. and the U.K. The company plans to bring the next group of hospitals online in October 2026.
HCA Healthcare uses clinical information from approximately 47 million annual patient encounters to improve care delivery. Dr. Jake O'Shea, Vice President and Chief Health Information Officer of HCA Healthcare, noted that each go-live strengthens the foundation for clinicians, clinical data, and care processes to optimize hospital workflows.
