The Brennand family will keep voting control through Ical Vidros with 50.1% of total capital.
Itaú Unibanco agreed to invest in Investvivix, the holding company that controls Brazilian flat-glass producer Vivix, InvestNews reported on September 23, 2026. The transaction allows the bank to hold up to 49.9% of Investvivix's total capital.
The deal value was not disclosed. The investment still requires approval from Brazil's antitrust regulator, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade).
The transaction does not grant Itaú control of the company. Ical Vidros, part of the Cornélio Brennand Group, will retain all common voting shares and 50.1% of total capital. Itaú will hold only preferred shares, giving it an economic interest without management control.
Vivix operates a factory in Goiana, Pernambuco, and a raw-materials processing facility in Pedras de Fogo, Paraíba. The glassmaker posted a net profit of 138.4 million reais in 2025, up from 112.3 million reais in 2024.
