Itaú sells over 100,000 devices via iPhone pra Sempre
A financial report from distributor Allied highlighted the leasing program launched in 2020.
Itaú Unibanco has sold more than 100,000 iPhones through its "iPhone pra Sempre" program launched in 2020. The milestone was disclosed in a financial report released by partner electronics distributor Allied.
The program operates as a leasing arrangement. Customers purchase an Apple handset using an Itaú credit card in up to 21 installments. At the end of the term, users can return the phone to start a new cycle or make a final payment equal to 30% of the device's value to keep it.
Allied reported a substantial increase in iPhone 13 orders following its September release, which led the distributor to restructure its refurbished unit to absorb returned iPhone 12 devices from the program.
Returned handsets are reconditioned and sold in Brazil's used device market. According to IDC Brasil data cited in the report, used sales reached 2.7 million units in 2021, with projections of 3.7 million units this year and 5 million in 2024.
