JPMorgan expands Gusto-powered Chase Payroll for businesses
The service integrates next-day processing into Chase Business Online for small business banking clients.
JPMorgan Chase announced on October 7, 2026, the expansion of Chase Payroll to eligible Business Banking clients. Powered by Gusto's technology, the service allows business owners to manage payroll, taxes, and employee payments alongside their existing banking and payment activities directly within Chase Business Online.
The tool provides next-day payroll processing for eligible business checking customers when payments are authorized by 6:30 p.m. ET. It also automates payroll tax calculations and filings through Gusto, supports contractor payments, and connects with retirement plan integrations such as Everyday 401(k) by J.P. Morgan.
According to Chase's August 2026 survey of business owners, 89% said they would find it valuable to manage payroll within the same platform used for banking and payments. The research also found that 37% reported that meeting payroll had put pressure on cash flow over the prior six months.
Stevie Baron, CEO of Chase for Business, stated that business owners want tools that work together to keep operations moving. Tomer London, co-founder of Gusto, noted that the integration brings compliance and payroll directly into the banking platform small businesses already use. Chase serves more than 7.5 million small businesses and 87 million consumers across the United States, operating 5,100 branches and 14,500 ATMs.
