Julie Sawyer Montgomery takes over as Danaher CEO
The appointment took effect on October 1, 2026, alongside a seat on the board.
Danaher announced that Julie Sawyer Montgomery has officially assumed the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer on October 1, 2026. She also joined the company's Board of Directors. The planned leadership transition was first announced on August 3, 2026.
Sawyer Montgomery joined Danaher in 2017 and held positions across commercial operations, research and development, and business leadership. She focused on driving innovation, expanding market share, and optimizing the Danaher Business System to improve operating performance.
Former executive Rainer Blair will serve as a senior advisor until March 31, 2027, to ensure a seamless leadership transition at the life sciences and diagnostics company, which employs approximately 60,000 people worldwide.
