Latam Airlines concentrates 60% of operations in Brazil
The carrier plans Embraer E195-E2 flights and evaluates 18 more domestic destinations by 2027.
Brazil currently represents about 60% of
Latam Airlines' total operations, the company told DF SUD on October 6, 2026. The group's Brazilian network has expanded from an average of 700 daily flights in 2019 to roughly 800 at present, while annual passenger traffic across domestic and international flights rose from 38.1 million to 46.7 million in 2025.
The airline is expanding its footprint from 44 Brazilian destinations in 2019 to 67, marking the largest domestic network in its history. Latam also confirmed it is evaluating up to 18 additional potential destinations for a second expansion phase planned for 2027. Selection depends on passenger demand and financial feasibility to connect into hubs at Guarulhos in São Paulo and Brasília.
The growth plan relies partly on introducing Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Latam announced during the second quarter that the first operational phase for this fleet will run between November 2026 and March 2027. The smaller capacity of the Embraer models compared to its Airbus fleet allows the airline to access airports with infrastructure or demand limits.
Latam stated that on existing routes, deploying the E195-E2 will enable it to replace a single daily Airbus flight with two daily Embraer flights. This shift doubles flight schedule options while freeing Airbus aircraft to add capacity on denser routes across the network.
