LATAM Airlines launches direct Santiago-Caracas route

The carrier expects to transport over 50,000 passengers in its first year starting in January 2027.

LATAM Airlines announced that it will begin operating a direct route between Santiago, Chile, and Caracas, Venezuela, starting on Sunday, January 3, 2027. The service will offer four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The company expects to transport more than 50,000 passengers during the first year of operations. Flights will have an estimated duration of 6 hours and 40 minutes, operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft.

Juan José Tohá, director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at LATAM Airlines, stated that the group is strengthening Venezuela's connectivity with its primary hubs in South America. The Santiago service adds to the existing route connecting Caracas with Bogotá, which is operated daily by LATAM Airlines Colombia.

Across its global network, LATAM operates flights to 164 destinations in 27 countries across four continents: the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Oceania.
