The Hyderabad site goes live with three zones as shares stay flat.
Microsoft expanded its cloud infrastructure in India on Monday, September 21, 2026, as its India South Central region in Hyderabad went live. Shares of the company were essentially flat following the announcement.
The new facility includes three availability zones and provides Azure and Microsoft Foundry services. Early enterprise customers for the region include Adani Group, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank, and PB Pay. Microsoft designed the site to serve India, South Asia, and other developing markets.
The facility features zero-water cooling to address local infrastructure constraints. While Microsoft holds a 20.5 billion dollar investment commitment for its broader expansion across India, it did not disclose the standalone megawatt capacity, server count, or revenue target for the Hyderabad site.
