Minsur seeks permits to expand Santo Domingo exploration

Peruvian miner Minsur submitted the sixth Sustaining Technical Report (ITS) for its Santo Domingo exploration project in Puno to the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem). Over the past two years, the company has spent around $42 million on its exploration programs across Peru.

The filing covers seven proposed modifications within the approved project area. Minsur plans to install 14 new diamond drill platforms along with their respective drill holes, as well as 25 additional drill holes on already approved platforms to deepen geological evaluations.

The plan also outlines 255 temporary test pits to evaluate soil conditions, two temporary lodging platforms for company and contractor staff, and three temporary mud sumps to optimize drilling mud management during operations.

To connect the sites, Minsur proposed building 1.924 kilometers of new access roads. The company plans to bring in new equipment for the works, including two backhoes, two vans, two generator sets, a lighting tower, two lightning rods, two water tankers, one excavator, two pickup trucks, and a fuel tanker.
