The funding supports Canadian family farms and regenerative agriculture practices.
Mondelez Canada Inc. announced an investment in Area One Farms Fund V on September 24, 2026. The capital is aimed at helping growth-oriented Canadian family farms expand operations, advance locally tailored regenerative agriculture, and bolster agricultural supply chain resilience.
The transaction was executed via the global Mondelēz Sustainable Futures impact investment platform, with support from impact investment advisory firm Sagana from opportunity sourcing through due diligence.
Area One Farms operates an equity co-investment model where farmers retain ownership and share upside and downside performance. The firm manages more than C$800 million in assets across more than 50 farm partnerships covering over 200,000 acres. The new funding will help farmers acquire land, upgrade infrastructure and machinery, and finance regenerative practices such as cover cropping and reduced tillage.
Mondelez International, which reported 2025 net revenues of approximately $38.5 billion across more than 150 countries, operates in Canada with over 2,000 employees across five manufacturing sites in the Greater Toronto-Hamilton Area.
