Former leader Dev Ittycheria returns as interim president and CEO.
MongoDB shares are falling after Meta hired its CEO, Chirantan "CJ" Desai, to lead the new Meta Enterprise Platform.
Meta stated that the Meta Enterprise Platform will leverage advanced models, agents, large-scale infrastructure, and business relationships. The initiative will initially focus on bringing tools such as the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code to businesses and developers.
To address the leadership exit, MongoDB named company veteran Dev Ittycheria as interim president and CEO. Ittycheria previously led MongoDB as president and CEO from 2014 to 2025.
Tom Killalea, chairman of MongoDB's board of directors, affirmed that the company's business remains strong. He noted that Ittycheria has stayed actively involved as an executive board member over the past year and will step in immediately to ensure a seamless transition.
