Motiva reports 30.8% highway traffic surge in September

Total volume reached 126.1 million vehicles lifted by new concessions, while comparable traffic grew 1.2%.

Brazilian infrastructure operator Motiva S.A. reported a 30.8% year-over-year jump in consolidated highway traffic for September 2026, reaching 126.1 million equivalent vehicles across all concessions compared to 96.4 million in September 2025. The company disclosed the figures in an operational update on Friday, October 9, 2026.

On a comparable basis, which excludes the newly integrated concessions of Motiva Sorocabana, Paraná, and Minas_SP, highway traffic stood at 86,576 thousand equivalent vehicles, up 1.2% from 85,546 thousand a year earlier. Across the first nine months of 2026, comparable highway volume reached 780,573 thousand vehicles, an increase of 2.6% over the 760,703 thousand recorded in the same period of 2025.

Performance varied across highway concessions. The RioSP network delivered the strongest growth, posting a 13.4% rise in traffic, or 4.1% when excluding Free Flow electronic tolling. The Paraná concession increased traffic by 9.8%, while the Pantanal concession saw volume decline by 7.7%.

In its urban mobility rail operations, Motiva transported 65,366 thousand passengers on a comparable basis during September, down 2.3% from 66,924 thousand in September 2025. Despite the monthly drop, nine-month comparable passenger volume rose 1.7% to 572,826 thousand riders compared to 563,460 thousand in the prior-year period.
