The native service will bring NetApp ONTAP data management to OCI within 12 months.
Oracle and NetApp announced on September 29, 2026, a new fully managed storage offering designed natively for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Named Oracle Cloud Infrastructure NetApp Storage Service, the tool integrates NetApp ONTAP data management capabilities directly into Oracle's cloud.
The service is intended to help organizations migrate and operate enterprise workloads and artificial intelligence data pipelines. It supports databases, virtualized environments, electronic design automation (EDA), high-performance computing (HPC), and regulated enterprise applications while retaining existing storage operational workflows.
Users will be able to manage the offering through the OCI Console, software development kits, and ONTAP application programming interfaces. Konstantinos Papamiltiadis, Senior Vice President of Partnerships at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, said the service gives customers a trusted and familiar path to OCI so they can avoid rebuilding data infrastructure.
The companies plan to make Oracle Cloud Infrastructure NetApp Storage Service generally available within the next 12 months.
