Paramount to adapt Cyberpunk 2077 into a live-action film

Paramount Skydance Corporation is developing a live-action film adaptation of the video game Cyberpunk 2077. The project was confirmed on October 9, 2026, by Michał Nowakowski, joint-CEO of Polish game studio CD Projekt Red, according to Reuters.
Following the announcement on October 9, shares of CD Projekt RED gained 3% in early trading. The companies have not disclosed financial terms, licensing fees, or a target release window for the production.
The movie will adapt one of gaming's largest recent franchises. Cyberpunk 2077 had sold 40 million copies as of July 3, 2026, while its Phantom Liberty expansion had reached 15 million copies sold. CD Projekt Red also reported having 184 internal developers allocated to a sequel as of July 31, 2026.
