The central bank reported a 10.7% expansion year to date as public and private projects gained momentum.
Peru's construction sector expanded by 9.9% in July 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru. On a seasonally adjusted basis, activity increased by 1.2% compared to June. Between January and July, the sector accumulated an expansion of 10.7%.
Domestic cement consumption rose 10.2% during the month, driven by higher dispatches across major suppliers. Shipments from Yura in the southern region rose 15.9%, while Pacasmayo grew 11.5% in the north. Dispatches from Unacem increased 5.0%.
Public works progress increased 9.5% in July. Investment climbed 18.2% at regional governments, 10.1% at the national government level, and 3.6% among local governments. Higher spending targeted non-residential buildings, basic services, road infrastructure, and risk prevention projects.
